hi, first off i'll tell you about my tank
-250 litres
-been set up for 5 years
-4 male guppies
-10 female guppies
-1 common pleco
-1 male platy
-1 female platy
- 5 cherry barbs
- 6 cherry barbs
-the back is heavily planted
- temperature sits at 79 degrees farienheit
- fed once a day, varies from daphnia, bloodworm, flake, live brine shrimp.
-last water change on sunday past
-25%
-light 10 hours a day
-part sand and part gravel substrate
Ok, a couple of days ago i noticed two of my male guppies we're not swimmiing right.
So i switched off the light to de-stress them.
Then the morning after one of them was floating at the top...With a severly bloated stomach.
my other guppy had now developed a red blister like mark on his side.
And he had a severly bloated stomach.
I took the water tests using my API liquid test kit.
P.h 7.2
nitrate 0
nitrite 0
ammonia 0.2
nothing wrong there, as it has been like that solid for at least two years now.
No new fish have been added in the past year so it couldnt have came from them.
now this morning when i went to check my fish, the other guppy was belly up.
I had planned to go to the lfs and purchase medication for swim bladder as that what it looked like, didnt think it was dropsy as they dont have a pine cone effect.
Help please
