a possible parasite in my 50 gal. my large synadontis has a 1/4 inch oval shape white mark on its body near its tail. i took a pic, its blurry but its the best i could do. as well as i noticed one of my smaller black skirt tetras is missing a eye, did some one eat it.

the pic is too blurry to make a judgement. if it were me I would put it in a quaranteen tank and treat it for fungus. or treat the tank it was in for fungus ,as if it is a fungus, it will be disburesed in the tank. please go slowly, it may not be a fungus and it is not reccomended to just treat indiscriminatly. be careful of the treatment you may use. as for the eye thing---no way of knowing, it most likely will be fine with one eye.

i know the pic is blurry its the best i can do. i don't think its a fungus, and their is a discoloration to some of the other synadontis this might sound callous but i'm not to concerned about the tetra, my main concern is also my BGK. i picked up some general cure-anti parasitic medication by API. is it safe?

okay so an update, i teated with the API general cure, but i halved the dose because of my BGK that was 5 days ago. yesterday when i was checking my tank i noticed that all 3 of the synadontis have it, different areas of the body but they have it. grrrrrrrrrrrr so i broke down and got a quarintine tank (its a 10gal), i put 2 tbs of salt and the temp is 80. now i can treat with out worrying, what should i treat with?
