Do fish get respritory problems?

Hi guys. The reason I asked you that question is because my youngest Platy Lovlie has not been breathing normally today. I mean her gills are not really red, she is just breathing hard. A couple of times today she will just sit on the bottom of the tank just breathing really slowly like she's about to die, but when she trys to move around, she will breath very hard like her gills will move very fast. Thats why I asked if this is some sort of breathing problem? She's currently is housing in the 10 gallon.

Could be an ammonia issue? Try testing the water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate

Well I'm going to test out the results She's eating well and swimming normally, and being chased by the other platies( She gets chased everyday) it just that her breathing is a little awkward.

Here are the results:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0.25
Nitrate: 20

Oh yeah, I feed them once a day.

Good news. Lovelie is doing much better now. =D I'm still testing the water and doing water changes though.
