i noticed this morning to my surprise a group of mollies pursueing a cory about and biting at its sides and they same thing in retrospect seems to have occored to my keyholes with large white patches caused by mollies nibbling the sides..causeing death either by stress or other factors it goes without saying that there going to be saying goodbye soon ,but why the hell have they started doing it? did they just discover this new food one day?

How long have you had the mollies in with the other fish for?

Mollies can be very territorial. They are for the most part a lovely placid fish, but then occasionally you get one (or a couple) that seem aggressive.

My molly took exception to a fish we introduced to the tank a few months ago - kept having a go at it - in the end we had to separate them. I took the molly back to the lfs who took it out of the goodness of his heart (and said, "Blimey, it's big!")

Less a molly, more a shark!
