death in the family

i don't know why but all of a sudden, the mother died a couple of hours ago. Then 20 minutes later, her babies suddenly died too!
is that wierd or what?

Sorry to hear. Check your water parameters to make sure things are in check.

Danios are not livebearers. They are egg layers and are actually the easiest cyprinids to breed regardless of what your water parameters are.

There's no such thing as livebearing danios. It is easy to assume because you cannot become aware that they already laid eggs. Eggs are not easily seen and by the time, a week passes, the fry are already grown and it is easy to assume that they were born through internal fertilization.

Microsoft: Pls post a pic of your fish so the doubt will be ceased.:) I doubt the event that mother and fry died. It is more likely that your fish aren't danios at all but from the family Poeciliids.
