Ph is 7.0, I have him in a group of 3. Their tankmates consist of two ghost shrimp.
I do water changes (40%) about once every two weeks.
Ammonia, nitrite are 0, Nitrate is unknown. (but should be slim to none)
The tank is heavily planted with stem plants, and a soil substrate.
His two companions and the two ghost shrimp are perfectly healthy.
I feed them algae tabs and shrimp pellets, but they don't seem to eat the algae tablets. Perhaps I could try peas?
His color is fine, and he appears to be eating, but can't seem to keep himself right-side up. When he swims, he rotates like a little torpedo. It would be hilarious if it wasn't sad.
He also wedges himself in the stem plants near the surface- I assume to get air.
The tank does not have a lid. Could that be a problem?
Any advice is much appreciated. I'd really rather not put him down- I tend to only euthanize if they stop eating and become lethargic- he's as active as he should be (most of the time.)
