Columnaris?? HELP!

Water is awesome, we test all the time.

We are just beginners, so we have a community tank, 55 gallon, fully cycled...nitrates at 10-20ish, PH 7.4, Ammonia at 0, nitrite at 0

We did have 4 Mollies, Feather-fin catfish, 5 female bettas, and a peacock eel.

So we went and got 4 Gourami (2 powder blue and 2reds)

Day 1 added the four Gourami
Day 3 - Gourami 1 died (i thought we got a bad fish)
Day 4 - Sailfin molly, the only male (Capt Jack!) died (maybe he was old)
Day5 - three bettas gone and one on its way out. Somethings wrong.

I did not examine the fish that died until I saw the white lips/mouth on the nearly gone Betta.

Looks something like Columnaris?? Looks like we got it from the first Gourami that died!!! How do I treattttt!!!!! and where can I find it??

I have isolated the last betta :( and Im nervous the others are on their way out.

the ich i would try treating with rid-ich or anything with a formuline/malachite formula. treat the recommended does with 25-50% water changes before each dosing, and be sure to treat for at least for weeks, maybe more. when i treated i was dealing with delicate fry and invertebrates so i chose to treat every other day, but for 21 days.

during this treatment process you can probably add some melafix to the tank too to help with whatever it is you had. if it looked like, or indeed was Columnaris, then melafix should have no problems with it, and the addition of melafix shouldn't add too much extra stress to your fish during the treatment process. there is always the risk of overmedicating and i wouldn't suggest any harsher treatments then melafix. however, your fish could still be fighting off a bacteria right now that has dropped their immune systems to the point of getting the ich, and treating the bacteria may indirectly help with the ich problem. not that i'm saying ich can go away on it's own without addressing it, once established, it must be treated.

Gotta love it...the catfish seemed to get better from the ick - spots are gone, but in less than 24 hours our last dalmatian molly is COVERED with it...and shes about to go...

it is ridiculously depressing....
