Clown Pleco Sick? Mollys hate Betas?!

I have had just 3 Creamsicle Mollys and a Clown Pleco established in my 50 gal. tank for months. I bought 2 female betas last night and ever since putting them in the Mollys have literally done everything to get away from them including jump out of the water in panic.

Will they get used to each other or are they a bad combo?

But my biggest issue is the Clown Pleco, he was completely fine until this morning. I saw one of the betas next to him and thats when I noticed the color change.

Now he is turning (clear? or kind of like my white skin color?) on the upper part of his body, fins still black striped though.

What can I do to help him? He eats algae tablets every night and hangs out under his driftwood all day like normal.

I just did a water change last week, levels are normal.

Wow, so now the frightened Mollys are all huddled together under one piece of drift wood, they're never this close for this long of a time. Are they going to be ok? They look scared :(

Clown plecos can change color somewhat or at least mine does on occasion from a mottled brown to almost olive but i have not seen any black stripes as you described. Your water parameters are good which helps to eliminate it as a factor. Sometimes the lighting can cause fishes colors to change . I would remove the bettas as it is clear the bettas do not care for their company as evidenced by the mollies jumping out of the tank. Chalk it up as an expieriment that did not work. :)
