cichild with body slime?

Tank size: 125 gallons
Freshwater
About 15 other African cichlids, 2 south American cichlids, 1 catfish, 1 bristlenose
Ammonia 0: nitrate 5
Temp: 77f
Water changes: 1/2 tank once a week
Lighting: t5 6 hours a day
Filtration: Otto canister filter and Rio 1400
Food: African cichlids attack, Hikari cichlid staple, tetra cichlid sticks, Wardley flakes, frozen brine shrimp, fresh tilapia, crickets, Mealworms

I have a beautiful 8 inch haplochromis borleyi that lost his appetite in the past week, as well as personality. Then he began to develop white spots around his face and belly, and then it sort of developed into a filmy look. Then I noticed he is breathing very very heavily, and my other fish do not have the same problem. I concluded that this is body slime disease, is this correct? And does body slime coincide with the loss of appetite? I moved him to a 5 gallon sick tank and I'm treating him with API Fungus Cure for right now. Anyone recommend anything better?

Also does anyone know what causes body slime disease to occur?

Thanks

How long have you had this tank up? 5 nitrates seems pretty low which makes me think maybe its a new tank? or you have some type of nitrate filtration such as an algae scrubber. Or it leads me to believe that you might mean NitrIte and not nitrAte, in which case thats really bad.

Have you added any new fish or decor or any new filtration?
