Exclamation Captain Shiny-Sides is dying?

Our Angelfish, Captain Shiny-Sides, whom we've inherited about 6 months ago, was taken care of by a friend for about 4 years previously. He now has developed a large swelling on both it's sides underneath his pectoral fin in this past 2-3 weeks. I am guessing it is a tumour of sorts, but I wonder if it could be pregnancy or an infection that is curable. I'd appreciate any information possible; here is an image to show - focus on the lower abdomen.
