Break the Cycle please

Hi,
6 months ago I bought a new fish, which I later found out that it's a mutt. 6 months later I am beginning to see a hole forming next to the gill and near the eye. Now, He/She is what I assume a mutation fish, because when I inspected it after I bought it his/her lips are pukered up as if kissing. The whole 6 months, that lip has never bothered him/her and eats well.

Now that the hole is is appearing it is now struggling to eat.
So far I have started the tank on anti-bacteria but I don't know if it has worked yet.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have posted this on youtube as my picture taking skills are poor.

oh btw
1. What is the size of your tank?
35 gallon
2. What are your water parameters? State the brand of test kit used.
don't have a test kit... I try to keep at 72-76 degrees
3. Is your aquarium set up freshwater or brackish water?
freshwater
4. How long the aquarium has been set up?
years? about 2 years? I have used it way before but stopped fish hobby therefore it was empty...
5. What fish do you have? How many are in your tank? How big are they? How long have you had them?
2 angelfish, 5 female bettas (yes, it a sorority) , 8 neon tera
all had them for about 6 months or longer
6. Were the fish placed under quarantine period (minus the first batch from the point wherein the tank is ready to accommodate the inhabitants)?
I wish I could quarantine. Last time I did that to an angelfish it died from shock...I i'm afraid to do it again...
7. What temperature is the tank water currently?
72-76F
8. Are there live plants in the aquarium?
small patch of java moss and algae
9. What filter are you using? State brand, maintenance routine and power capacity.
whisper
10. Any other equipment used (aside from heater and filter which are two very important components of the tank)?
bubble?? jk no, not really...
11. Does your aquarium receive natural sunlight at any given part of the day? What is your lighting schedule (assuming you do not rely on sunlight for our viewing pleasure)?
ehh, kinnda but not really. I would guess it receives 1% sunlight...
12. When did you perform your last water change and how much water was changed? How often do you change your water? Do you vacuum the substrate?
Yesterday, I vacuum it last change. I do a cycle. 2 just water then next vacuum.
13. What foods do you provide your fish? What is the feeding schedule?
Flakes, every morning.
14. What unusual signs have you observed in your fish?
I see a hole in my fish
15. Have you treated your fish ahead of diagnosis? If so, what treatments did you use? State your reasons for planning ahead of proper diagnosis.
anti-bacteria. Try to treat the hole like a wound? I figure I could help... I'm not sure...

Hey mate. Firstly how is the fish doing? Thanks for the info, but I still can't help without a picture if possible and other info. Do you condition the water when you conduct water changes? Are there any other fish in the tank acting weird? Water parameters would definetly help (gh kh ph) in case the fish has certain requirements. I tried the YouTube clip but it says it doesn't exist. Can you give a better species brief to help me look into it.

Cheers

Titan

>_< yes I condition the water... sometimes i'll even add aged water...

every else is acting normal, other angelfish eats like a pig, betta females eats like a pig, neon tetras chase excitedly for their food.

The sick angelfish has trouble eatting, but I managed to find a trick. I let the flake sink a little so that it begins to float in the middle of the tank and it seems its easier for it to catch and eat the food.

I'm probably one of those rare people who don't want to bother doing a ph test and what not...(...) and currently I'm not sure how would i do it now cause i'm using T.C. Tetracycline and my tank is dark yellow at the moment... T_T

At the moment, the treatment might be helping? The hole seems like it hasn't gotten any bigger, like the angelfish is frozen in time. So its so far not getting any worse nor any better...

This certainly looks like Head and Lateral Line Erosion Disease. This can be caused by different factors including vitamin deficiency, chemicals in the water/dirty water, stress, carbon in filters. Usually the best course of action for this is frequent water changes, addition of supplements to the fish food, and removal of carbon from filters and reduce any chemical additives if they are being used. You also might check into Hexamita which is caused by a protozoan in the digestive system and ends up looking like HLLED, for which you can medicate. Hope this helps.

Hmm, I like your response, thank you. More of a specific type of disease eh?

I feel it might be the first one, as I read a bit about the latter and it said it has white poop, which is not what I have been seeing yet nor before.

I guess right now I am sorta changing the water more frequently as the medication is requesting that I do so anyway. The next step I guess is that I'll give vitamins a try. The filter is off currently. And I don't really use any chemicals beside the water condition.

Only worry I have now is that the fish can't balance very well now. When I turn on the light to get a look, I spook it a bit and it begins to spin from up to down. I can see the angel is aware and is trying to balance its self back, but its hard and it does like 10 spins before it stops...(not good...)
