bettas dying help

My friends two female bettas are lying on the floor breathing heavily. They are in Zephrahills spring water. There is no heater or filter, but their water is warm. PLease help i think they are dying!

Im sorry.

Do you know the water paremeters? Or do they look like they have any "defections" of some sort? Or are they just breathing hard?

If they look like they are in pain, then I would euthanize them. (I think that is the word).

There is a sticky'd thread on what is the most hummane way to do it.

also what is the tank size? and the temperature and when do you do you water changes? is the water dechlorinized?

i think she has a 3 and half gal tank. the temperature is probably cold. and the water is just plain old zephrahils nothing else so i dont know if it is declorinated [/u]

she empties her entire tank out once a week

oops sorry i thought it was your tank the full tank changes could also be stressing out her fish, the cold could also be effecting them, betta like warmer temperatures. are there any other visable signs? eg little white spots, loss of colour?
