Betta Won't EAT

My male betta is approx. 2.5 years old, and has spent all his time with me (approx. 1.5 years) in a 2.5gallon tank.
He gets regular water changes, his tank gets cleaned, and his water is kept warm. He is very particular about what he eats, and tends to only like freeze-dried bloodworms, and Wardley's pellets.
About two days ago, he didn't eat any pellets, i assumed he was "having a bad day" and ignored it. But since then, I have tried 2 other brands of pellets, flakes, and bloodworms, none of which he wants to eat...

Help! What else can I do? He is starving himself! :o

If you're feeding bloodworms or other insects you can't feed a whole lot or they get bound up. As for peas, usually they have to be taught to eat them before they will start to readily accept them. Just keep trying the pellets, clean em out if he doesn't eat them. Sometimes they decide to get finicky and not eat and eventually they get hungry.

Just a few questions: Do you have a heater that keeps the tank temp steady at 78 degrees? How much water do you change when you change it? Do you have a liquid testing kit so we can know your parameters (ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates)? I ask for a liquid kit because strips are always junk.

This is the song that never ends...

to feed him you should give him the pellets everyday and freeze dried bloodworms as a treat once or twice a week. bcuz they arnt as nutrisous as frozen bloodworms.

i would suggest just feed him noting but pellets until he starts eating them again. after that do it for a few days then you can start feeding him bloodworms agian

I forgot to mention he was inactive, and "sleepy"...
This morning he was chipper and happy, and readily ate what I gave him...
