okay i have one other problem. my betta has ripped holes in the tail. they would heal and close up and then another would pop up somewhere. i don't even know what's causing it. he's in a tank with no decor so he can't possibly rip it on anything... except he keeps flaring at his own reflection. is the rapid movement enough to rip his tail?
i'd appreciate any help. i want to heal darth vader. :-?
Constant flaring will damage their delicate tails. Could you add a dark background to Darth's tank so he doesn't keep injuring himself at his reflection? Make sure his water is super clean while he's healing to prevent infection.
so i moved him to a 5 gallon tank instead of his 2.5 and for awhile the holes in his fins healed up nicely. but now there are new tiny holes showing up which will heal and then others would come up again.
he's no longer flaring so much and seems active with good appetite. is it anything serious or do i just let him be? does fin rot always start from the tips and disintegrate the tail from there? i don't see bloody streaks on him or anything. he's really fine except the tiny holes keep coming up.
