Can you buy a bottle of "Prime"? It can be a very small bottle as one cap full does 50 gallons. You would need a dropper and likely use only a drop or 2. Apparently Prime neutralizes Ammonia and NitrIte !! I say apparently because I have only just learned that you can safely cycle a tank with it, not to mention dechlorinate your water.
Get the smallest bottle you can, calculate the volume of your tank vs mils of the products.
There is also a fin repair product on the market but I've not used it.... Melafix. But you will need good water first!!
Good luck, keep us posted! | I've tried it -- it says you can use up to five times the dosage in an emergency for nitrites, so I used three times.
The nitrites levels are the same - 1.0 ppm. :(
