The use of salt is a topic of much debate, but I think most aquarists agree that freshwater aquarium salt should be used only when you're treating for an illness and not on a regular basis. Bettas are particularly intolerant of marine salt, and while the salt you're using definitely isn't marine salt, whether or not the betta appreciates it could still be debated. Personally, I only use it when my fish are sick and they seem to get along just fine. That'll save you money, too.
