betta acts sick

my betta is not looking so good ,we had him for 8 months in one of those starter bowl with the light,he was doing fine he servived fishes that have come and gone. just recently i changed him to a bigger bowl and every sence he would not eat he wont even come to the top at all some times he acts as if he cant see the food, he just sits on the bottom or sides would swim very little and once in a while come to the top for one breath and return back to the bottum .some times he tens torub against the gravel its been3-4 day with out food. HELP!

high my betta did the same thing every time i did a water change if he dosent come good in the next day or two just retrace your steps untill you come to a solution with mine one time it turned out to be an ammonia problem bettas as you probably know are moody things its probably just stressed.

How large is this bowl? What's the water temperature? Do you test the water (using an API master kit)? I'd get the test kit if you don't and then let us know the parameters.
