I'm not the most knowledgeable about medicating, but I think I would skip over melafix and pimafix in this instance. They are wonderful meds, and very gentle, but if your fish have cases as advanced as the one in the image, you may only have one chance to save them. I'm not sure what to recommend, but would look more closely into Romad's suggestions. . .
When an issue like this occurs, it is often due to problems with water quality, or fish that are living in stressful conditions. To ensure that the illness doesn't come back, it is important to look a bit more closely at what could be the underlying cause of this.

I want to make sure you understand that these fish simply can not thrive in a tank of this size. They must be given larger accommodations, or situations like this one will continue to appear. If you are unable to provide these pets with a larger tank at this time, you should really consider finding them a new home until you are able to keep them properly.
