Hey, I am also getting boxing shrimp, blood shrimp and skunk shrimp. Which of these should i buy? Plz reply fast as they might get sold.

I am getting two Little Fishes Brand (USA) Calcium Concentrate Julian Sprung’s Reef Formula.
Two Little Fishies - Water Conditioners
What abt this product?

My LFS is insisting me to buy Ionic Balance. (comes in 2 bottles) to control alkalinity and calcium.

Awaiting for your replies.

I use a similiar product for alk and cal called Bionic (it's also a 2-part). I have good luck with it, but also keep a bottle of Kent Marine dKH buffer and a bottle of Calcium handy. This is in case one needs to be supplemented and not the other.

How are the levels in your Q-tank?

I would probably get the skunk cleaner as they come out the most during the day. But I would wait until you get that pH problem sastified as shrimp are very pH sensitive.

Thanks I will test the ph, alkalinity and calcium tmrw and accodingly purchase shrimp.

i would buy 1 skunk cleaner. and Two Little Fishes Brand (USA) Calcium Concentrate Julian Sprung’s Reef Formula.

Day before yesterday my Q tank result was Ammonia 0 ppm and Nitate <15ppm.

I was thinking that green algae is also happening due to my tank placed just beside my window and my window light comes inside my room as well as in tank. i will shoot a photo soon.

The additional light may contribute slightly, but it is most likely due to excessive dissolved organic compounds. Bottom line, more organic removal or less organic input is needed.

I think what he is trying to say is that the light is a small factor. That the organic material (ie food) going into the tank at this time is greater then the system is able to remove. The organics in the tank are the major factor in the algae bloom not the light.

Okay i understood. But i am not overfeeding. The food i give are consumed by the fishes. Thanks for the reply.

Results:

Ph : 8.00
Alkalinity : 9 dkh
Calcium : 400 ppm

Will add 1 skunk shrimp tmrw or may be 2. My LFS has called me tmrw. Its pretty far.

What about surface skimming, its powdery and oily.? My top filter does the job but for that i need to use floss which is to be washed daily?

Added 2 Skunk Shrimp Cleaners. Bought Two Little Fishes C-Balance® Two Part Balanced Ionic Supplement of Calcium and Buffer for Marine Aquariums. Part A & Part B.(procedure to give them twice a week 10 ml.)

Added 1 fasle percula clown fish and 1 electric blue damsel. Just forgot to inform.. Already Quarantined them for 4 weeks in QT.Acclimated them pretty well and they are eating a lot. Ocean Nutriton will be delivered to me this weekend through my pretty far LFS.

Hope everybody is happy including my tank.

Results will be posted tmrw (ALK & PH & CALCIUM).
