Fish boy he is definitely a sailfin tang. He's gorgeous, huh!

Update time!!!!!
Got the RO system in, the new powerhead in (another Hydor Koralia Evolution 750) a couple more new corals, some new Mexican Turbo's, and a Pencil Urchin!

Since hubby got the return pump hard plumbed everything is running so much better, and the protein skimmer is coming up with SOOO much more nasty skimmate now!

GREAT NEWS! glad to see you got a RO system. You're gonna see that's one of the best investments you could have gotten. You might want to eventually add a DI kit to that and get a TDS meter too. i used a dual inline TDS meter so all i have to do is glance at it to know that the filter is working properly. you can also use a hand held TDS meter with alittle more effort. just a fyi, the membrane (the expensive part of the RO) can last quite a long time if you are careful enough to replace your carbon prefilters often enough. The membrane will be ruined if chlorine ever gets to it so i would recommend changing those prefilters every 9 months or so. when you eventually change those filters i would recommend 2 carbon filters to make sure the membrane doesn't get exposed to chlorine. Here's a hand held TDS meter Aquarium Water | Reverse Osmosis | RODI Water | ReefKeeper Water | TDS Meter from Senno

here's the dual TDS meter i'm using
Aquarium Water | Reverse Osmosis | RODI Water | ReefKeeper Water | TDS_Meter_Dual_In-line_ Monitor

with these you can tell more accurately when your water quality is falling.

here's a di addon kit

Aquarium Water | Reverse Osmosis | RODI Water | ReefKeeper Water | Vertical Color Changing DI Adder Kit

you will eventually need to add more di resin too but at least you won't hane to buy the cartridge again. if you ever add on the di part you will get ZERO TDS water quality. that's actually chemical grade pure water that chemist use in labs on experiments. That's H2O and nothing else!

Thanks iamtommy :)

Reefsahoy - so the TDS meter is just for checking on the RO filter? I am already super glad I got this, no more trips to the LFS for water!

the tds meter can measure your source, and anywhere between all the way to final output. where i'm from my TDS out of the faucet on any given day is at 350 ppm and out the ro before the di it's 10 ppm after the DI i get 0 TDS.

New heater!!! 300w Hydor THEO (the other one was pooping out, it came out of my 55g fw and was already old, and was only 100w)
Had to mount it in the sump sort-of sideways since it was 15in long!

Joann, there is a recall on Hydor 300 Watt heaters that can cause fires. here's the link. Hydor recalling some Theo 300 watt aquarium heaters

mine fell into the serial number catagory so i had mine replaced for free. hope yours didn't fall into the catagory! Good luck!

Good thing you posted that you got a new heater!
