what are your water params? a fish died and its not as easy as just replacing it. practicing using a QT before introducing into a display tank is also a very important step. i personally wouldnt rush out to buy a new fish anytime soon unless you want to risk it dying too. i would observe the clown over a short period and see how it does. i also wouldnt feed flake food, but thats my choice. a good mix of different quality foods is best for health and their ability to fight off sickness. alot of foods are "dirty" with un-wanted phosphates, nitrates, minerals... and should be pre-rinsed prior adding to the tank. this will help prevent algae issues later down the road. over feeding should also be avoided, and this will help keep those bristle worms your talking about within a reasonable number. if they arnt able to get big or in large numbers ( which is a dead give away of over feeding ) they become a good natural part of the clean up crew.

well my water params are all the same, ammonia 0, nitrates under .5 (the very slightest tint of the .5 color) and my nitrites are 0. ph is 7.4 (or at least thats what my fw tank says (same water but R/O in salt) i lost the color charts to the rest but still have the chems.
im almost certain it was the fish that was sick because it died in less than 24hrs. i did a water change today so the water is perfect just to be sure.
i feed my clown by hand so NO food gets to the bottom. sometimes i feed my sails by hand if they are near the surface, if not they dont get fed, there is enough on the rocks for them to enjoy anyways.
the reason i am rushing out is because my lfs has a sale on a bunch of new clowns.
its good to know the mystery worm wont be a danger if i feed this way. i hope it doesnt eat my polyps and zoes when i get some :/
thank you for the advice and the concer :)

You might have problems mixing the percula with the black clown. There might be territorial issues considering the size of your tank.

ok well thank god i didnt get it, instead i got a small rock of star polyps, 1 hairy mushroom and a free kenya tree (there was no money back on the fish but he gave me a huge kenya.

anyways i have a wierd mystery in my tank.
So i have 2 scarlet herits and 2 blue legs and 4 snails. today i found 1 scarlet completly torn apart in a corner, but both of the hermits were still alive inside thier shell..... i know they are both scarlets because i can see thier little red legs, so what is the torn up thing in the corner... nothing else in my tank is red other then my orange clown (not really red though).... first off what is it and also, what tore it up in the middle of the day, because it wasnt there in the morning.....

im kind of scarred to put in my new corals and i wouldntve bought them if i saw this before i went to the store.... what should i do, also i had this empty snial shell in the tank and now its flipped over... although that couldve been anything, like my clown playing around.

i gotta put my corals in the tank so i guess ill just keep them in the higher parts and hope the attacker doesnt come back tonight....

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

ok so update:

i couldnt take pics because they werent out, but now the lights are off and everyones all snuggled in.

should any of them be out at night? my kenya shrivled up but was fine while the lights are on so i think its just its natural thing to do at "night" lol. the star polyps arent out either, but the mushroom is poking his head out a bit XD.

sorry for that freak out lol, i guess its natural, well at least i know i care about my tank XD (i almost cried LOL)

does the placement of these matter? i put them so they all get direct sunlight and good flow so that shouldnt be an issue.

anyways ill have pics up tommorow after school :P
