ok so i have been looking for a little bit and im confuse as to what gobys pair up with shrimp? and what type of shrimp. the only shrimp i DONT want are pistol shrimp or any that make loud noises in my tank since its right next to my head when i sleep. i love suggestions also so throw em out there!

i think im gonna look for a panda bear shrimp and a teddy bear crab just cause i love how they look (and thier names are awsome!).

is this reliable info? if so it says only 20gal, but i never found any other fish that said 10gal and i know some of them can go in it so maybe that is just the smallest sized average tank? not quite sure.

Personally I think it would survive in a ten gallon tank.

That being said, for a novice to keep a ten gallon tank does put undue stress on the inhabitants. Ask anyone that kept a marine tank and you will see there is a learning curve. Ten gallon tanks aren't forgiving. Things can get real bad, real quick. In a larger tank, you can see a trend to the way things are going. When they go south, you start to see a more rapidly decreasing alkalinity and calcium. But you have time. With small tanks, in the morning everything can be fine, and when you get home from work, disaster. That's why it helps to know how to run a marine tank before going the nano route.

You should get the tank up and running before you worry about stocking. This kind of project needs to go reeeaaallll slow. Get your hands wet with live sand, live rock and a Skimmer. Run that for a few months. Make sure the tank stays stable over the course of 24 hours.

What is the average daily temp where you are from?

Ok so i got my light and my skimmer (VERY happy with both). i will post pics of them as soon as possible. i really like the look of my tank but i think in the future im going to put a small refuge under the tank because the skimmer is just way to big and to add some more water volume.

I still have some questions about what i should put in my CUC when its time (not saying im trying to rush just want to have a plan).

I was reading a bit more on the teddy bear crab (gorrila crab) and i heard that it eats the mushrooms and snails. So im guessing that is a no no.

What type of shrimp can i have that will pair up with a goby, and what kind of goby will pair up with the shrimp? I am also looking around and i think i would like to have a species tank with only a mantis shrimp in it. what is the tank size requirements of a mantis shrimp? i understand nothing else would be able to be inside the tank and i dont think it would fit in a 10gal seeing as they get up to 15inch.

I hope pasfur comes back, i think he would approve of the skimmer i picked (Remora nano skimmer)

He'll be back. And I think he will appreciate it.

I have heard from various sources that mantis shrimp can crack tank bottoms.
