I purchased the Kleins Butterfly on October 17. Today I added it to my 180. Why did I quarantine this fish for 6 weeks? Well, part was just laziness, because I was ready to add it after 5 weeks. But, the primary reason was to ensure it was conditioned well to handle the relentless battle that was about to occur when I added it to the tank.
Sure enough, as expected the fish was challenged. The Clown Tang and the FoxFace were the fish that took the most interest. The FoxFace especially spent a good 30 minutes pursuing the Butterfly, but never really could challenge it much due to the smaller size of the Butterfly and its ability to gracefully move between the small crevices in the live rock.
I added the fish about 4 hours ago. I just fed the fish, and to my amazement the Kleins came swimming right out into the feeding frenzy and is aggressively eating and defending its space. Very cool. Knock on wood and hope it does well tonight as the lights go down.
I took a nice close up pic of the live rock and dry rock. The new pieces I added a few weeks ago are blending nicely. I will post the pic sometime later this week.
