Total do you have 100 pounds of the Key Largo rock? Do you have any live rock, how long will it take for the rocks to begin to get the caroline algae( or become live)? also what light system are you using right now for this tank?

Thanx

75 lbs of Fiji dry rock, 75 lbs of Key Largo dry rock, and 50-60 lbs of live rock from an established tank. I expect coraline to take a good 6 months to really cover the rock. However, the Fiji rock is already completely blended with the live rock and for all practical purposes is live rock now.

Pictures to come this weekend. Nothing special to see... i'm in the middle of a diatom bloom.

I am asking this because I was thinking of getting some of that key largo dry rock and put it underneath my 80lbs of well established live rock, and curious how long it will take for it establish to become live, and began to see growth on it.

The Fiji dry rock seeded quicker than the Key Largo, and looks more natural.

The Fiji took about 6 weeks to completely blend in.

I added a Naso elegans Tang to my 180 today. It is considerably larger than the Yellow Tang and was ignored by the other fish when introduced. I really like this fish... another beautiful selection.

Sorry about the pictures. I'm having a very difficult time getting the fish to allow me to take pictures. They are still easily frightened when I approach.
