hes est. alittle shy of 4 inches, eating fantastic.
its coming from another member who was buying another setup off someone that was including one of these guys. they had a tank for it but i guess they didnt want 2. the downfall is that i had to drive alittle over an hour and a half (each way) to pick him up but.. how about $30

....and ladies and gentlemen, the walls have been primed this morning. im hoping to get the trim done today and maybe alittle more on the stand.

koles are nice but im more of a fan of powder blues. i also like small sailfins and yellow tangs, but ofcourse they grow. i saw a few 1'' or so blue hippos at my LFS the other day. i originally planned a gem tang but my LFS was sold out thats why i stuck with the powder blue.

trim work is painted, did alittle more work on the stand.

Yea, I know what you are talking about with the sizes. A LFS here had a pair of mated Naso Tangs that were at least 16" each. Beautiful, but huge.

it may be alittle much but i think with a 7 foot stand in, a few posters, a wall mounted book shelf and one of the walls painted white its going to look alright, i hope.
first coat.

thanks!
the tangs fantastic, eating like a pig.

i only got alittle stand work done, basically the frame well the upper and lower parts of it, now i have to add the legs (which i cut already and cut slots for biscuits) then i need to skin it, sand it, paint it. . . im actually trying to figure out what to skin the stand with and how exactly to go about it. im going to have a 3 foot sump in a 5 foot stand and i need ease of access with doors or some sort. any ideas? pictures?
im getting close, very close. this is costing a fortune. lol.

guess what! good news, good news!

second coat is complete, the walls appear alittle darker so thats cool stuff. the room is basically done except for the 1 wall that my tank is on now. the glass-holes shipment came in that apparently was "lost in the mail"
i wasnt to concerned because they said if it didnt come in today that they would completely rebuild and resend another order. this thing is awesome and well built so now i pretty much have everything this tank needs for the most part. it just comes down to drilling the tank and it not shattering, painting the back of it black, finishing the stand and sanding/painting that and setting up and filling the tank with water. its getting close!

plan for another 4 months.

Man, you are doing an unbelievable amount of hard work to put this all together. It makes me tired just reading about it
It's going to look fantastic and I can hardly wait to see the finished project.
