i honestly couldnt tell you. i came home from work, saw it, removed the shell, did a quick water change and went to bed. i work night shifts so i was tired, i know i should have did a full system test but i didnt. honestly i think it was because of a high salinity or because it was 2'' and ive heard you have to spot feed them when they are small until they are about 3'' then its all from light. i def. fed the tank just didnt spot feed. honestly idk

I've heard about that and someone from Next Wave years ago did a 2" myth thing on clams, on how: you don't have to spot feed them and something about the mantle being the same thickness and so it absorbs the same amount of everthing from the start. i didn't hear that talk, but i've read and have heard many others speak about it.

I know a club member has a bunch of clams and doesn't spot feed any otherm. IDK

what kind of lights are you using again? (if you posted it i'm being to lazy to look )

That's plenty of light. What about your temp? I'm perplexed at what caused this anomoly.

omg i just thought of it! a few days back i added a K4 yes a K4 lol

it wasnt direct flow and it was on the other side of the tank but i wonder if it was still to much for the clam?

it's quite the possiblity, but the clam could have moved if it didn't like the flow... unless you had it trapped? maybe?
