your gonna need a ton of them i would say honestly you would need three alternate tanks going with pods feed one to the mandarin and then re start it and then the next one and so one the only issue would be they can clean a tank in a day.... and still be hungry.... you are gonna need mad pods my friend ....

Quick Update: I am in the process of recovering my tank from a 5 day power outage. There was a fire in my building and there was nothing I could do but run a battery powered airstone and hope for the best. Surprising all my fish and most of my corals made it. Today is the 4th day with power back and my tank is looking basically normal except for the beached and dead SPS frags. I did a major water change when I got power back and all my tests are normal now. Not going to add anything for a while now just gonna try to get back on track.

My tank seems to be going through an interesting time. Yesterday I can home to an explosion of life similar to the early days of the tank. Lots of algae film on the glass and tons of pods and other critters like colonista snails. Things seem to be going back to normal. I'm thinking this burst of microfauna can only be a good thing. I have started dosing Seachem Reef Plus which is basically and iodine, vitamin c, etc supplement which I think is probably just some BS snake oil product but who know maybe it will help. I will post some pictures in the near future.

Red face New Pics

Gonna post some pictures from a few days ago right after getting power back. Things have actually improved nicely since this but I want to document the low point and recovery of my tank.

other updates: recently got new lamps for my T5 fixture (3x ATI Blue PLus, 1 ATI Purple Plus, and 1 ATI Aquablue special) Wow this really makes my corals look awesome even if it does make the tank look a bit blue for my tastes. Might need to tweek the color balance on my photos in the future to get a better look.

looking nice and i can tell you are getting nice color and contrast even tho the pics come out blue. Is the ati purple plus like the kz fiji purple? if so that's almost the identical bulb selection i recommended disneycoral to use. when using this combo you have to do white balance on the camera then take the picture. the colors in the picture will then be realistic. and trust me, when your eyes adjust to the colors you'll be happy that you went towards the blue spectrum.
