My 27 gal with my precious blinky fish

I have had this tank set up for 8 years in its current location. Super stable never a problem. Not much in it but I like it that way. Mainly its the home of blinky fish, a perc of at least 8 or 9 years. He is so cute and lovable. Will eat from my hand and if very hungry jump clear out of the water! He loves to bite me when I clean the tank. Almost lost him twice! Once he got a piece of shrimp caught in his mouth and I had to pry it out with forceps and the other time he ate soo much algea he could not poop it out and I had to gently pull it out.
The tank itself is a coraline growing machine! A month ago I scraped all the coraline off the glass cause I could not see the fish and look how much it came back! I put shells in there to cover them in purple then take them out as decorations. But it seems to want to grow on anything exept the live rock, not so much there...
5 Years ago bought one mushroom and now have more than 40!
Almost no filtration, just a whisper.
There is a thriving population of little shrimpy thing(I call them folded shrimp)
Once blinky passes I dont think I will keep it going, I am sick of salt creep and I get rashes from the water. Used to have even bigger reef tanks but got too poor to upkeep them (salt alone was getting outragous)

Here are some pics and a video of blinky eating (he usualy is more interactive but he was stressed with the cam there) I know the bottom needs a syphoning...Damn bristleworms

Probably Amphipods. :)

Looks great for a nice simple set-up. It's too bad you don't want to keep it up after your fish passes.

Take pride in what you do, for it is a reflection of who you are.
