I use turbo and astrea snails now with a few hermits. I'm really wanting to add a eyelash (lawnmower) blenny. They'll help the tank yes, but i love the way they interact and are so personable. Urchin... i don't want to get it and then get rid of it as they can get really big, but that looks like my true option...

my LFS has some really big tuxedos then because they are nearing the size of baseballs.

welp, i've just done the best water change ever...
I did the change and put my hand into the water the move something and i felt a sting in my finger.
Pulled it out and thought it was a cut in my finger (which i do have) and tried with my left hand... Yeah, it hurt again.
I had loose electricity from my RIO 800. It took my a little while and killing the power all at once then un plugging everthing thing one by one to find it, but i did.

good find, are you gonna get a grounding rod? I've never invested in one of those, seeing mixed reviews/opinions on whether or not they are worth anything. Maybe you'll just replace/fix the RIO?

I have enough flow, i'm just going to leave it out for now, i do have a MJ600 lying around so maybe i'll use that... idk though

Also... I'm going to put another tank up. It'll be a 2.5g pico tank... i'm using stuff from the main reef and sand that i've had and corals that are in the main reef. i probably wont do any fish, but idk.

what would you measure with the multi-meter? I wish i knew how to identify and fix a voltage leak, but I don't . That might make a good thread in itself under another forum on here, asking what other people do and don't do about stray electricity.

The meter would be plugged into the tank and if it ever spiked i would know there was a power leak. Then it'll help me id where it's coming from i think.

From what i've had other people tell me in my local club, Rio's are known for power leaks and for siezing up and having a leak and nuking the system, so i think i'm going to get those out and go with another Maxi Jet or something else like a korelia or a Tunze... i wish i could get the Vortec MP40W... that would be awsome.

Yeah, I've got a couple of Koralias. They're pretty good, its tough to point them such that they don't blow up the sand, and my only other complaint is that I don't think they can or at least should be used with wavemakers. Tunzes are, but of course, they are WAY more expensive . One day when I get my dream tank, I'll have a couple of Tunzes and a microcontroller! I've never checked out the Vortecs though, I'll look them up.
