I just had an after though...

If i leave to Missouri and leave my tank to heat itself then i'm going to come back to a cooked tank if no one turns the heat off and then the reverse if i don't have some one to turn the heater back on... Crap, now i'm nervous about going out of town... Curse you Murphy and your dumb law!

Can you find a tank sitter? I plan of doing that next vacation because what I came home to after the last vacation wasn't fun...Maybe your LFS knows someone (a customer) that might be willing to do it? Just a thought...

long term solution: time for a chller.

I don't think a chiller should be depended upon though. If that's your only way of controlling the water and it malfunctions when you're not home or on a vacation (as everything does) then you don't have time to fix it and your tank just gets cooked. i like ambient cooling. If my lights are working then it's working and the chiller can be used as a backup just incase the day gets super hot like 110f as it did earlier this year and my temp got up to 90F (the ac went out in the apt i live in).

The club i'm in has 500+ members but i don't know them well enough and i think i'm going to have a neighboor come by and do it for me, as well as the top off... other then that everything should be worked out as far as the heater goes. i've been testing it and making sure it's not going to cook my tank while the MH are on.

I'd say it's worth every penny that you paid. It's beautiful.

Why thank you. It started to get a bit blue on the tips right when i started to leave. The LFS i go to doesn't use any actinic lighting on the tank the frag was from. I'm hoping my 14,000K MH will bring it out more. Fingers Crossed!

Ok, checks are done and i'm ready to go to MO. Everything is stable and my tank isn't getting over 81F while the temp in the apt is 75F wich is wonderful. I'll take many pics and show you how snow MO... i hope.
