after looking at my tank for a while, one of the rocks has some type of polyp on it....very very tiny

its a single stem and "flower" part the single polyp looks like Saltwater Aquarium Corals for Marine Reef Aquariums: Colony Polyp, Yellow
but doesn't have any color to it, and it is probably as small as the tip of a pen. any ideas what it might be? and should i feed it something? any chance of keeping it alive (my lighting is horrible only 40watts total right now (will be getting new bulbs in a week or so, but they wont be much better, 80watt total[10,000k and actinic])

May be a little to early to know for sure..... if it is aiptasia don't freak out lol (when I first saw that I had like 8 of them growing I thought it would be impossible to get rid of them). Just go buy some aiptasia x...... it comes with a syringe and the formula. It does not take much at all to kill them with it; just a small squirt of it into the aiptasia. It is pretty fun haha.

when i found it i didn't really care what it was, i was excited that something "alive" was in my tank...lol

well, lets see tomorrow hopefully i will post some more pics. Lets see what i got today...

60lbs live rock
30lbs live argonite sand
bunch of snails
few hermit crabs
peppermint shrimp (suppose to be 2, one might be hiding on the rocks)
clownfish

5-6 power heads
30gallon tank w/ stand
4 heaters
digita light timer
ATO system
nets
food
10 gallon tank (is currently my QT tank, and will be)
digital thermometer
and other misc tools and supplies...

very exciting day for me.......the tank that everything came from had significant amounts of hair algae, is there a certain animal that eats this stuff? i tried removing most of it from the rocks before putting them in my tank...

also for my QT i just ahve a few p[ieces of live rock, a HOB waterfall filter (pengiun biowheel 125, no media) and a powerhead. Should i add media to the biowheel? how often should i do water changes...and is there anything else these animals need?
