does anyone have any suggestions as to where i should install the baffles? i was thinking one in each corner, but i'd like my return to come out at the sides. Also can i make an overflow box out of ABS and aquarium silicone? thanks!

Exciting! Have you picked out a protein skimmer yet? Have you decided on the sand bed?

someone on another forum is selling a used bremuda C protein skimmer with a mag drive 7 on it, im trying to get that from them, and im also buying the Aqua Via one (that I had wrote about in another thread) next week sometime, as well as my 30G L tank for the sump/refugium. Sand bed is in, 4-6 inches deep depending on where....and a few pieces of live rock 5lbs or so (this should be enough to seed the tank I hope, might just take longer?)

Unfortunatly i used the wrong pipe when doing the back part (the verticle pieces) but it was odd bc they were the same exact length (and i had already cut pieces from them) found the smaller in length ones after the pvc cement dried...oh well, ill have to cut them while they are attached.

Im having a little bit of an issue with the plugs i put in the baffles leaking, so i decided just to fill the tank up to right before the baffles.

Should be exciting though, i am not sure how i want the drains to go into the refugium, im thinking ill just put a 45 degree bend on the right one and another 45 facing down so they both drain on the left side of the sump.

we shall see!

also, is dried up old Hard coral okay to use in the tank, as live rock i mean? will it eventually seed?

kind of upset, i missed out on two good auctions a mag drive 3 for 10 bucks
and a new magdrive 5 for 30 bucks

Pics of my son's hermit crab cage, which i also did today. Sand is wet becasue i washed it, once it dried we will add some crabbies to it.

I would not advice using the dried up old hard coral. I have done this in many tanks, mixed with live rock, and eventually hair algae problems are the result. In a FOWLR environment, not a problem. But in a reef, it is just not worth the risk.
