Well, I have good and and some bad news.

Good: I have ordered my first corals! I ordered three different type of Zoas; 20+ polyps of Whammin Watermelons, 15+ polyps of Blue Stars, and 8 polyps of Orange Delights. They should be here either Tuesday or Wednesday, dependant on when the seller can ship.

Bad: I bought a Skunk Cleaner shrimp, and it died in the tank after I drip acclimated for 2+ hours. I guess from either pH or SG shock, but I just dont understand. $30 down the drain. I dont know if I should be more sad than mad.

I have a list of corals I basically want to have and I know where I want to put them:
-Zoas
-Mushrooms on a rock near the bottom.
-Pulsing Xenia, which I'm sure I'm going to be run over eventually since these grow like a weed. I'm going to get it to attach to my wall, hopefully.
-Zoas
-Maybe some Rics if I have room.
-Frogspawn, hopefully
-Palys
-Zoas
-I might get a frag of M. Digitata or birdsnest. No idea on that yet still. I have to ask arond and study on that.
-Baby Plate coral. My LFS got a new shipment of some *really* nice ones, only at $35. Really good price for this thing.
-Zoas
-Possibly a Polyp rock. Again, LFS has one with probably 25+ polyps at $20.
-I want to get Sun Corals, but I need to make sure I will be willing to feed it, and be able to have someone take care of them if I ever go on Vacation.
-Other corals I have room for them.
-And last but not least, Zoas.

I want to completley fill this with corals (mostly softies, with LPS mixed in, and maybe SPS).

Next photo update will be when I get my zoas opened up.

I couldn't resist, so just for kicks i gave your theory a shot. I googled "fuge and aquariums". 96,000 hits.
YOU CHEATED!!!! You added aquariums. That's like giving your horse steroids before the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness. Did I say that? Oops.

LOL Nice. I guess you noticed that i am from Louisville, KY.

To be fair, I checked a couple others....
"fuge and fish" = 220,00
"fuge and coral" = 81,200

At this point in real life, my lady friend would hit me over the head with a Rock Band guitar. (Yes, i am a 35 year old pathetic excuse of a man who loves playing rock band.)

In the interest of staying on topic.... The tank is really coming along nice Cody. Keep posting pics!

Haha..I was wondering if anyone else here was as pissed off about that as I was.

This is the song that never ends...

Looks like this was pushed pretty far down...

Little update, no pics (sorry). The 3 Zoas will come in next Wednesday from one seller. He had a family emergency, and he said if I can wait untill Tuesday (when he ships), he will throw in an extra frag or two. I also may get one or two very small frags from another seller who is moving. Those would probably be here on Monday, max. I promise, I will take some pics once they come in!

I also need to take a trip to the LFS to buy some Kalk. I am having a very hard time getting my pH up, and SKAustin reccomended me to dose Kalk (I'm right on that now!). I also dont mind the addition it adds for the growth of Coralline Algea.

Other than that, almost nothing has been going on with the tank. Hermits been switching shells, I;ve been cleaning off algea, etc etc.

Hey Cody, can you post alkalinity, phosphate, and calcium readings?

That is still the one thing I need to buy, unfortunatley. I do not have a testing kit for either one. I know, I need to get one ASAP. Chances are that one or more are in the wrong range if my pH is low, correct?

Annoucements:

Ordered the supplies for my refugium. This is a U-tube, Tubing, Aquarium Silicone, and Fish nets (to cover the U-Tube and tubing). Those will be here on Tuesday. I have also decided I am going to be using my filter for a return pump from the fuge, instead of a powerhead. Also, I need to pick up 2 more Astrea Snails, more hermit crab shells, and I need to find a place where someone sells Nassarius snails. Also picking up some Kalk, and the Test kits for Phosphate, Alk and Calcium if the LFS has that in stock. Corals will still be here on Wednesday.

*Pictures will come tommorow after my trip to LFS*

You would want to be comfortable with these readings as related to pH as you begin dripping Kalk. All 4 are influenced by the other.

Day 44

Turns out I codulnt go to the LFS. Something came up. Anyways, I promised pics, so here they are. As you can probably see, I still have a small algea problem. Not as bad as before, though.

FTS:

FTS with flash:

Macroalgea (Caulerpa, I beleive):

Hermit Crab shells:

Snails going to work:

I tried getting a picture of the pods on the back wall here...

I made a new mag-rack that will be placed on the back wall.

2.5G tank for refugium:

FTS to show tanks:
