i use baking soda but for ca i use b-ionic/DTs and for mag i use kents/DTs.

the aquascaping should have openings for fish and water flow to go through and about. really you want minimal to no dead spots without creating a sandstorm. i think that aquascape in the picture looks pretty good.

you may want to put those rocks in a tub with some saltwater, power head, and a heater for sometime. it would also be of MUCH benifit to seed it with a decent amount of already cured live rock from a few different locations.

ya I am looking at buying 3 or 4 lbs of live rock at the most.... thats 40 bucks right there. 10 dollars a pound adds up pretty quick (im sure all ofyou know that by now). I dont have the money to fork out for anymore than that, and I still ahve to buy a powerhead.

hold on. where are you located?

i suggest 2 power heads ( at minimum ) over 1. you can def. find them cheaper online and i personally would prob. stop shopping at this store ( atleast buying dry goods ) that double the price.
look for a local reefing club as you can find equipment cheaper, you can also find cured live rock wayyyy cheaper then 10 a pound.

Nope, those are real Koralias! You gotta factor in the shipping cost as well, but yeah buying equipment online is usually cheaper than buying from an LFS (not always, but rarely is it more expensive online). I got my Koralia #4s online.

Im located right outside of charlotte. The store is called Fintastic. I dont know any other stores that are even remotely close. That is probably how they get away with such high prices. Aqua cave sells the k 2's for about 35 and charge only 4 somethin for shipping. I will probably get two of them and try and find some live rock online. How is shipping done with live rock?

There is another lfs I found but its nearly 45 minutes away compared to a 25 min drive to the closer lfs (fintastic). I will probably just stick to purchasing items from the internet unless I absolutely need something that day.

ya I already joined a chat there and had some negative feedback from a current member that I purchased stuff from. Are there any online charts that have the recommended amounts of nitrite, ph, calcium, alk, etc, listed so that I can just print them out? I want some sort of guide taht I can always have on hand while doing my testing until I actually memorize them.
