Some pics of the clowns! They got really excited when I turned the light on and began swimming all around the tank. I have the light off all day yesterday; I am getting GHA!!! I will scrub it off this weekend when I get some more live rock and redo some aquascaping. Anyway, here are the pics! Btw, the bigger one is named Mickey, and the Smaller one is Nemo... I let my cousins name my fish (if they dont, I just call em' all fishies lol). Also, the Goby's name is Murrell B. lol! Couldn't get a pic of him today.. Whoopssss. Sorry about the betta pic, idk how to get it off.

Yes, it is time to supplement calcium. Be certain to always test calcium and alkalinity together. Otherwise you can not interpret the results.

After lookig at ugly diatoms for a while, and not wanting to purchase a lot more cuc right now because of money, I took things into my own hands and rearranged the aqua scape; I also cleaned up off the gha and most of the diatoms. I like this aqua scape better, and it looks more coral friendly. I will be adding about 20 more lbs of that purple stuff (live rock) this weekend . Well it is coming straight from a well established tank, but I think I will let any excess die off occur for a week after I purchase it in a 10 gallon tub.

Maybe we have already discussed this, I can't recall.

I see that you have a hang on filter. Are you running it empty? Or do you have a filter pad? I would suggest running it empty to help reduce phosphate and nitrate buildup.

No Mark, I think that's the heater. I had the same concern earlier on this thread.

That is a hang on filter, and it does have a filter pad in it. I only ran it temporarily to clean up the debris I created afte rescaping the rock. No filter sock yet.

Update: My goby has been of the timid nature since I purchased him, but after redoing the aqua scape he has become rather intrepid. He came off the bottom and got onto a rock; he began taking laps around the tank; he started charging right into the flow of a hydor 3 ( impressive rfor his size); he is now trying to school with the clowns lol. I do not think they are having any of it though, but they are pretty good with him. Not to much nipping or aggression, they just ignore him.

The heater is in the return of the skimmer.
