ohhhhh i though they would come to some harm (aside from the stress of netting)... yes they are quick little buggers but again i like them and have no intention of getting rid of them at this point.... my next inhabitance will be mainly inverts and corals... i have two that are doing well but in time i will get more... not for a while...
a quick question my 6500k lights are compact florescent bulbs with a box pin formation... will i be able to find bulbs in 10000k or larger with this pattern and or actinic bulbs also.. i think if i can find bulbs i could rework my fixture for them and save on a total upgrade.... as noted else where i am a cheep guy and prefer DIY any way....

news news news WOOOHHHHOOOOOOOO
ok so first my test resaults over the last three weeks have resaulted in the same readings
Ph- 8.3
No2 - <0.3mg/l
dKH - 8 (i feel a bit low)
NH3 - 0 mg/l
Cal - 380 (i feel a bit low)

i am getting 2 fixtures one a little smaller than the other (i want the small ones in the back) they are both 2 bulb T5 fixtures and in stead of a buying them each (they aer the sizes i wanted LOONG story) for 75 a pop or getting the 4 bulb fixture i did not want for 150 i am nailing these down for 25$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and they come with 3 of the 4 bulbs with less than 1 month on them.. dude i am so excited .........

Yeah I have found some deals on lights on Craigslist around here myself, and they keep falling through, or the person changes their minds. Blah!!

I can't believe how much purple algae is growing directly under my ONE light since I changed it to a 50/50 bulb! Can't wait to get my new light either. I am 99.9% ready for corals....just need that dang light!!

brief update
tests are still stable
Coraline algae growing on everything real nice
still awaiting opportunity to upgrade lights but in the mean time i switched the position of my current lights so that the 50/50 bulb and the 10,000k bulb are more focused on the rocks and corals (GSP, Zoas [not really doing well] and the Paly's [found more heads now i have 6!])
the 2x 6500 are in the front for now and all seems to be doing well with it

odd thing i have a snail that has not moved from its spot in 48 hours when i tug gently on its trap door it pulls back but the little bugger wont move and feed.... any ideas?

My snails do the same thing.I'll think they're dead then get up one day and they're all over the tank again.

hmmmm very odd... i mean as of last night my readings are still stable but i just dont want the snail decomposing in the tank you know? and i would imagine that is if was dead the crabs would be all over it as they were the last one that died....

ok so quick teaser update i got new corals today and the stuff to start dosing (kalwaser) so i am going to up date pix tomorrow and start the dosing as well..... after the initial mix gets in the system (drip over a long period) i will wait 24 hours and test to see where i am at.. according to my calculators i am going to need a massive amount to hit my target range initially but i can see no reason to ruch things so i will slowwwwwwwly bring the balance up so every one can get used to it and so i dont crash the darn thing LOL.... no really not gonna crash again that would make me really angry !!!!!!!!!!
