just because 1 does, doesnt mean they all will but even if they all do i still wouldnt treat a display. my displays have corals and inverts that would die. the live rock is pourus and prob. would absorb and added chemical anyways which would cause problems down the line. treat in your QT tank, thats one of the reasons you have it.

ohhh i miss understood... i thought you meant in general with my other methods not to treat the DT...(which mine is very limited on inhabitants) i agree fully not to ever put meds into the DT..... and thank you for the info on the ich not always being wide spread.. i know in my FW tanks if one has it they ALL have it.... this is very helpful.... but on an up note the garlic appears to be working nicely i have noticed a decrease in the spots and the fish seem a bit more active as well as not flashing off the rocks..... W/C yesterday and all looks like its going well sorry for the delay in pix and the derailing of the thread folks but some times you just have to know the answers and its better to get them than to start a new thread and wait LOL
onefish - thank you you have been a great help

ich

I stumbled across this yesterday. Pretty easy to understand the ich life cycle in chart form.

so last night i discovered that when sitting next to the tank and looking up i had this horrible film up there and my over flow just was not cutting it... so me being the spoiled brat that i am enlisted my wife and children and we set off on a small adventure (honestly small i expected 4 hours and it only took 2 of which was 1.5 hours of waiting)
and build a new over flow for the tank.. the inner "box" is a bow shaped bowl from an aqua sand kit my 5 year old donated, the outer box was a specimen container i had laying around... a few nylon bolts, silicon, and the bulk head from the existing overflow box and BAM a new over flow..opps the tubes wont fit!!! darn... heyyyyyyyyy Python to the rescue LOL
so again three tubes for over flow to limit failure and with larger holes my flow has greatly increased... not to mention that scum is gone!!!!! and as of this morning the tank looks brighter when i turn on the lights...

tonight..... PIX>>>>>>>>>>>>
