thank you !! this tank has been one crazy adventure.... if you read the whole thread you will see not only the adventure but the plan changes as i learn more and as i decide the best way forward..... as for the future i am honestly not real sure at this point other than more corals LOL... i will list current specs and inhabitants and then put forth a few of my ideas
so as a refresher

50 gallon breeder DT
20 gallon long DIY sump
coralife 65 skimmer
king 225 return pump and another king 225 DIY closed loop hidden in the rock work
2x no name power heads mid to high in back for surface agitation
DIY HOT over flow
approx 60+ pounds LR (more to be added after it cycles in a separate tank)
65ish pound or LS in DT
25ish pounds of crushed coral in the refugium
2x 2 bulb T5 light fixtures (1x 12000k and 1x true actinic bulbs each)

No2 - 0
Nh3 - 0
dKh - 10
Cal - 440
PH - 8.3

2x domino damsels
1x yellow tailed blue damsel
1x blue damsel

5x hermit crabs
5x giant turbo snails

5x green mushrooms
1x purple mushroom
2x Kenya tree (I FRAGGED IT!!!!!!!)
1x unknown coral look above for pic
1x zebra carpet anemone
1x Duncan green frog whisker
1x colony of Palythoas (about 15 polyps)
2x unnamed Zoa frags (about 5-10 polyps each)
1x unnamed SPS (growing well under new lights)
2x GSP (one not doing well look for other post about this in a day or two)

as for the future i am thinking some aceans, perhaps a ricordia, a hammer or frog spawn.... not really sure found a great site on line and if i get spoiled for my birthday or x-mas (i usually do) perhaps my wife and kids will hook me up with an order from there and i will get a butt load of corals.. for now i just want things to settle in and keep my numbers stable then i will worry about adding more....

next ---- the moon lights .... with in the next few weeks i am going to DIY some... look for the thread LOL

why would you want crushed coral in your sump?

Those are all great pics of everything in your tank. What kind of camera are you using? I can't seem to take very good photos with my camera. What are the settings? I'm getting ready to start a 90 gallon DT and want to take photos of the process.

to help buffer my Alk.... i read it some where and decided if it did not work i could either mix it in the DT or start a new tank with it (always looking for a new build LOL).. so far i dosed Alk the day or two before adding it and my Cal the day before that and this with using Kalk for top off has seemed to help and all is stable three or four weeks later.... moving my testing to 1x weekly from 3 or 4x weekly starting this week to see if the longer term checks can find any variation.... so far all is good!!! besides it will eventually turn Live and be good extra filtration...

when you built your sump, how did you do the skimmer to the fuge? i am about to build a ten gal sump and am trying to figure out the transition. i like your design and would like to emulate. thanks

i measured how much room i needed for the skimmer to fit and added 3 inches (personal preference) then i cut a piece of acrylic to fit the tank front to back and then when up leaving 2.5 inches from the top of Baffle to the bottom of the rim in order to have it flow over and into the fuge .. i did not cut any of the top at all its a straight cut no "teeth"

i can get better close pix if you want to see it...

Have you ever thought about getting Ricordea(SP)? They are cool corals and would look great in your already awesome tank! that is unless you do and I don't recognize the name...I still am learning about coral and such. Any new pics? Updates on the Nem? I was wondering about the nem because it looked like a Zoa a bit.
