My 100Gal progressive reef pics

Woah! just got back from a weeks vacaiton cruisng the ocean without access to any info to my tank. remember i set it up to be semi automatic, meaning i need no human intervention for at most 2 weeks. Well i came home to a dirty glass tank, went to clean the tank using the magnet floats and the orange dig coral broke off because of new growth! the orange digi grew towards the glass and when i drew the magnet it hit the coral and broke off a small piece. anyone want a frag? haha otherwise the tank looks good. guess my automation system works!

Good job on the auto system then! Hope your vaca was great.

WHOOPS! Is the rest of the orange digi ok? I would take the frag but I still need lights! Argh.

Ok, here's an update. I was so busy at work and personal life that i took a sabattical from reefing, measuring parameters for about 3 months, and lost a couple corals. Now, i've rekindled the flame to a beautiful reef, i'm mentally back and will possibly complete a minor reaquascape or rocks, add a few fish and corals to the tank and get back in the driver seat of this aquarium. Most of the corals made it through as i was simply on auto pilot. I went on quite a few vacaitons, traveling for work. I almost did no water changes at the time, add no supplements other than the auto kalkwasser and ca reactor running. Overall the tank looks healthy but the parameters are off and now i'm adjusting for all the parameters i usually measure for. i only monitor the big 3 parameters and here's how far off they were.

I've done a water change over the weekend, changed the carbon, added meidia to the ca reactor, add kalkwasser to chamber, and cleaned the tank while adjusting slowly for the parameters which i hope to accomplish by the middle of this week. here's the new measurements

I basically have 2 weeks to get the tank in good shape then i go traveling again for work for 10 days. My plan is to have this tank rocking again by the holidays. Once i finish getting the tank about where i want it i will repost pics of the new scaping.

Well my levels are back to normal and the tank is clean. My pink birsdsnest is rocking away, and the orange digi along with several sps are frolicking in the gently currents. None of these corals seem to care that my levels were so way off! I'm going to be fragging quite a few corals this weekend and then off to the lfs for trading! I already texted the owner and he said to bring in as much frags as possile. I already informed him that none are mounted and he didn't care. I'm sure he'll find a good home for the frags. This time of year corals are hard to come by for the lfs here locally. It seems that importing corals gets more difficult in the winter, so my plan is to grow them then trade when specimens are hard to come by so i get max $ return on my stock.

If the lfs has anything i'm looking for i may come home with bags of stuff! hopefully i can find some interesting LR so i can start to reaquascape Stay tuned!

Looks amazing! Congrats on all the success! If I were in your shoes I'd be so upset because I don't think I would be able to make it look any better.

Thanks! i like the left island alot better than the right so i may be messing around the right island this weekend assuming i don't get busy. I have to finish something for work on sat and could possibly become a all weekend project. If not i hope to do some work on the tank sun.

Update, well i took alot of frags to the lfs and the owner gladly took what i had that weekend as reported. he traded me some for a sps called "joe the coral" and for lots of dry goods and credit. I had to go out of town for 10 days on business so the tank is again on auto pilot and i should be home tomorrow. Not sure what it will look like when i get back but from reports it's doing ok. I never got around to rescaping the tank like i had planned to but that was good because i don't think making any changes before leaving the house would be a good idea. hopefully when i get back my parameters are fine. i'm still interested in rescaping the tank but i have to get motivated to do it before i start ripping this thing apart. will keep you all posted when i get my head into it.
