Looking good. Long term suggestion: make sure you have good water flow over the sand bed, near the bottom of the tank. It looks like most of your powerheads are aimed at the upper 2/3 of the tank. Good flow over the substrate can be a helpful algae preventative, especially cyno!

thanks for the advice, there are two power heads covering the bottom 1/3 of the tank they are behind the rocks...if i have too much flow on the sand it cuts big holes into the terrain. but there is enough flow where i can see small pebbles dance around on the surface.

I added a serpent sea star, a coral banded shrimp, 15 blue legged hermits, and a ton of snails. seems like i have a good amount of cyano on some of the rocks, the snails and hermits are making good work to clean it up, just a matter of time i presume.

i have a actinic and 10,000k t12 NO bulbs coming next week, not sure if it will even make a difference, but i figured id work with what i have at least till i have the money to invest ina 4 bulb t5ho 48" setup (or an 8 bulb 24" setup)

next investment will be a ro/di unit since this tank needs topped off constantly!
any recomendations?

Bulk reef supply has a 5 stage ro di unit for 170 something. When I got it, it came with a free float valve..... so now I have a gravity fed auto top off running from the top of a book shelf beside my tank to the sump. It literally cost me no money for the auto top off because I had all the parts I needed. The one I did would only cost like 10 bucks assuming you have a float valve and thats it. I can post some pics if you wanna see it.

50 gallon reef tank is gone, before it even got situiated....i have a 125 RR glass tank now...whoo hoo...will post pics soon

Tank Specs:

125 Gallon (72" long) Glass Tank. Neptune Apex Aquacontroller, 2 250watt HQI MH Pendants, 2 160watt Actinic VHOs, LED Nightlights for Sunrise and sunset as well as moon lighting. Deltec AP 851 Skimmer, Homeade 36" high calcium reactor. 160lbs live rock 120lbs live sand. 1 occelarius clown, 1 misbar clown, 1 LTA, 4 Pajama Cardinals, 7 Green Chromis, Mated pair of yellow bellied blue damsels, 2 yellow tail damsels, yellow tang, power blue tang, foxface lo, watchman goby, bullet goby, green and blue mandarin, bicolor blenny, 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 coralbanded shrimp, 1 peppermint shrimp, Rock flower anenome, Pistol shrimp, and various other critters.
