this is not the lionfish natural habitat. they are an invading species. they will eventuallytake over the reefs here in the caribbean and the atlantic because they have no natural predators. they will kill all small fish and take over the reefs. it's gonna be a huge problem soon.

I have heard a lot about this problem in the aquarium magazines, etc. I understand that there are already efforts underway to encourage the capture of Lionfish... similar to deer season here in Kentucky, they will have to allow Lionfish to be removed or killed in great bulk to contain this problem.

Sorry, I do not have any coral pics. I did not have an underwater camera while snorkeling.

yeah. here in miami florida they encourage mass killing of these invaders! aparrantly they are good eating fish too! lol in the bahamas they are learning how to prepare these fish for human consumption! if they don't get them under control then even the beaches will be affected because if people get stung it will cost the state billions of $ from tourist staying out of the water.

A Gazebo like this makes my heart melt. :) I just love to stay in this kind of Gazebo as the cool wind blows and then the awesome bonding with our friends goes on really defines a good life, right? :D Most gazebos are designed with open spaces on all sides and short railings. This open space allows you to take in the view of the surroundings while relaxing inside the gazebo.

But above all this. What I like most is the pictures of sea urchins and star fish which I seldom see. How I wish to visit Jamaica too someday. Then I will also show you some photos just like what Pasfur did.

Oh..gees humans &%$ up everything.. What did they do ship them in and add them to the ocean for snorkeling/diving to bring in those luxery resort millions?

there are everywhere in the atlantic and caribbean now. i've seen them in florida, bahamas, mexico, jamaica and so on. they were probably released by some hobbiest who thought they were doing good rather than killing it. in florida we now have iguanas, nonnative snakes, and other animals causing chaos because of the same reasons. people think they want exotic pets and when they get tire of keeping them they release them which is a shame. killing one or two animals is insignificant relative to the chaos that will now happen to the rest of the natural habitat animals. every so often i even see macaw parrots flying around florida too. whish people would think before releasing pets/pests! nice pics tho. just wish it weren't lion fish.
