I came home today to find that the Ritteri had decided to take a stoll. He planted himself at the top of the tank covering my overflow. Thankfully, the tank water did NOT run out onto the floor, but it did raise the water level in the display by 2" causing my return chamber to run low causing my ATO to fill up the chamber thereby lowering my gravity. (Does that make sense?)
Darn it! I changed 20g of water to get it back into range.
The anemone managed to get himself wedged between the return nozzels and the overflow screening. Thankfully, this tank is a Perfecto tank with the removable screen, but it did not prevent the anemone from getting pinched and he suffered a small (1/2") tear.
I managed to get him lose and then placed him in the middle of the tank. He immediately began moving to find a better spot. I watched intently to get stuff out of his way and he settled directly underneath the nozzels. That was last night. When I got home today to check on him, I could NOTsee any evidence of trauma! I'm sure he couldn't possibly repair himself that quickly, but all good for now. |
