is there anything I can do for them

i don't want any thing to die i think that it is cruel because we addopted the fish and we need to take care of them is there any thing? I have a protien skimmer my rock is not live thinking of getting some just to try to get the rest of it to become a live. Can i add more sand now or is it to late? The light had just burnt out we are fixing it 2day or ordering a new ballast.

How long was the tank left until the fish went in. It appears to be under a week, which is ridiculous..

Describe the setup in detail with pictures etc. I have literally no idea how your tank is setup, what equipment you have, what the rock you have is or anything else for that matter..


Edit: The rock isn't live? What filtration do you have then?

I have a protien skimmer and the tank was sitting for 3 weeks before anything a live was added, we added 5 hermits and two snails, algea took over so we went to Priemer aquatics it is mostly salt water and they seem to know more than anyother perstore i tested the tank everthing seemed to be in favorable conditions then we added the fish. and algea is now gone

This is really the least of your worries. Start a poll on here: Who has clownfish and have they bred?

The results will show you that the odds are against you for Clownfish breeding. I have heard of one person on this forum rearing false perc fry since I have joined. Are you set-up to rear fry? Do you have a fry tank set up? Do you know how to recognize clown eggs?

I'm not trying to discourage you, I just want you to focus on more important (and more likely) aspects of your tank. Are you testing Calcium and Alkalinity? How are the rest of your parameters?

i have a calcium test i was told by the petstore that calcium is more for corals than fish

I think the correct way for them to state that is, "Regular Calcium testing will show that Calcium levels are most affected in a tank with Hard & Soft Corals. However, because Coraline Algae growth is dependant on Calcium, you will see a fluxuation in Calcium levels with Coraline growth. Also, although Calcium is less likely to be depleted by Fish alone, regular Calcium testing is still vital to ensure water quality in a marine tank."

As you test for Alkalinity and Calcium, you will see a relationship between the two. It is this relationship that will help you foresee bad things to happen in the tank, and when to change the water.

ok i have a calcium test do i need an alkaninity test kit

I GOT THE LIGHTS FIXED my step mom realy likes it because it is more blue now than before the lights broke

so can i add live sand or live rock now?

We have added a scooter blenny( on the 9th) and a salfin tang (today) ONLY one tang. Pictures later.
