Kells, he doesn't have cyano yet, I was telling him to watch out since he filled his tank up with tap water, and currently has a phosphate reading of 0.5.
If he only does a 20% water change, then he's only reducing the nitrates by 20%... from 15 ppm down to 12ppm. For my own personal learning, why is a 50% water change a bad idea, since he's got no livestock in there yet? I would never recommend that for a stocked tank, but I figured it would be OK at this early stage... would he risk disturbing the life on/in the liverock significantly?
