Ya since your tank is deeper do you think this fixture would work with mine because its only 8 inches tall lol http://www.bigalsonline.ca/BigAlsCA/...ripwlunarlight

I think the leds add actinics to if im wrong some one please correct.

If you can afford it get the dual sattalite it has daylights and actinics. The leds are only 1w moon lights for night. They do not give off the same spectrum light as the actinics. Corals zooplankton needs the bluer color of the spectrum this is some where l\between 420nm and 460nm.

Yeah I know I paid $325 dollors for mine just to tear it apart. But if you skip on your light it will show. Coralife makes the dual fixtures to. I heard(dont know) that they are pretty descent. I lighting can be the biggest expense in a reef setup.

I had two of the second option on my 20 high softy tank. They work good. I last option you would have to build a top for it.

Retro kits are made for canopies. You will have to build a hood to get them. Thay are almost like what I have but I bought the whole fixture and gutted it.
