uv sterilizer

Would anyone recommend a uv sterilizer for a FOWLR tank? If so what brand.

I have a 55 gal and plan to have some messy fish like puffers. I also have had an ich problem as well as some algae. I know the uv is not a cure for ich, but I've read that it helps prevent large ich outbreaks.

I am thinking of upgrading my skimmer. I have a Prizm which doesn't seem to do anything. Would the upgrade kit help with collecting more skimmate or should I just upgrade to something like an aqua c remora skimmer?

Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I got to say is a UV seterilizer is a saltwater hobbiests friend. I think every tank should have one. On my 120gal reef system I have a corallife 9w UV and it does real good at keep ick under control. Its just you have to get the right flow rate it for it. which I have a maxijet 400 on mine. As for the skimmer I hear the prism isnt worth the box it came in. But one question do you have a sump on this tank.

I don't have a sump I have a power filter with bio wheels.
