Two is better than one

So I have a 40 gallon tank with a tunze 9002 rated up to 52 gallons. Now I would like to upgrade my tank, within about a year (thats the plan) so I was wondering if I could get another skimmer rated at lets say 75, meaning id have two skimmers for a total rating of 127 gallons on a 90 gallon upgrade.

Would two skimmers work together? Would it even be better to run two rather than one large one?

Thanks.

Set up: 40 Gal Coral Reef (soon to be!)
2xKoralia 2, 1xHeater 150watt, 1xTunze 9002 skimmer, 50lbs x live rock, 1" argonite sand bed, 1xPhosban Reactor
Livestock: 2xclowns, 1xBlue Tang, 1xCleaner Shrimp, 1xConch, 5xTrochus Snails, 1xBlood Shrimp, 3xHermits, 1xSea Urchin

Often when running 2 skimmers you will find that one of the 2 does the bulk of the production. However, there is really no reason why you can't.

Personally, if you are going to spend the money to upgrade, I suggest spending just a touch more money and buying a single skimmer which can outperform the aquarium load. Also, keep in mind that these "ratings" are pretty much a joke. Skimmers are rated by the manufacturer for the purpose of advertising, and rarely would I agree with the rating they advertise.
