super skimmer help on how to work it right ???

i just got a super skimmer 125 and have it hooked up runs great very qiuet ,, but in the top where the red knob is what should i set that at ,1 ,,,, 2 the top cup has a drain do i need to put the clear tube on there to run the waist out or leave the cap on , 3 the flow how fast and this is running on a new tank so it needes too cycle first should i be running it at all i have it running know witht the water turning in there no flow really ??? need help with new toy

Turn the knob till the water reach's the first couple lines in the inner tube and leave it. As for the waste line it is up to you if you want to empty the cup all the time or let the liquid drain into a collection cup like a empty gal. jug. Mine drains into a 5 gallon pal.

i dont see any lines on the cup no where there is the line for the cup like to shape line but nothing there

i have a tang in my nano and going to put him in my 125 but tuff to get out do you know any tricks
