Strange light sizes?

Hi,

I have a 4' FOWLR tank with a luminaire with 4x30W T5 white fluorescent bulbs, measuring 850mm/33.5" each and they are very slim looking.

Taking a rough measurement of their length, I went to buy an actinic blue t5 from my LFS and got the only 30W one they or anyone else seems to have. The length is 900mm/36", and also much thicker than the current tubes, so will not fit the connections of my luminaire. I will shortly be taking the tube back!

After looking online I found t5 bulbs of the correct length (850mm) but the incorrect wattage - they were 39W. I couldn't find any 30W, 850mm t5 tubes anywhere. I assume I can't put in a blub of the incorrect wattage. The bulbs I have in there already are made by "SunSun" but they have no website I can find, or any products of the type I need.

Does anyone know of somewhere I can get actinic blue tubes of the right spec?

Cheers. Ian

I have no idea where you live so you could try them http://www.reefperfection.com/index....TS&Category=89

Or http://www.hellolights.com/fluorbulac.html

I think coralife has some in there if you want.

Lights

Hi, thanks for tryin to help.

I'm in the UK actually, but hopefully most places do overseas postage by now.

Had a look on those webpages but unfortunately neither have the size/wattage combination I'm after, like I said I've done a fairly extensive search online with no luck.

Cheers. Ian
