Standard Flourescent Bulbs

I have a few questions about standard flourescent light bulbs (I believe T8s). First, will T12s fit in the same fixture as a T8? I know T5s won't but I was just wondering before I go and make an order. I was also wondering if anybody had any recomendations on the best brand and the cheapest/best place to buy bulbs. I live about 20 min. north of Philly so if you have any specific places, feel free to let me know, but I would assume that there are better prices online, even with shpping fees.

what are you using these bulbs for? actinics only or is this a fish only tank? im not sure if they will fit but i do know that the T stands for "tubular" and the # stands for the bulbs size. the larger the number the bigger diameter of the bulb.

Well as for what the bulbs are for, right now it's fish only. Eventually, I will turn it into a reef but until I get enough cash for a new fixture, I'm just getting new bulbs. I'm going to do 50/50 lighting. 2 actinics and 2 10,000K. But I've been seeing 20,000K and "double" actinics. While you're thinking about my previous questions, can someone "shead some light" (lol, I'm a dork) on that?
Also, did some research, T12s and T8s can be flip flopped, but it looks like it would be a fire hazard. So no go.
